The Patent Office of Bulgaria turned to Fadata for development and implementation of Information Management Solution to administer for Industrial Design related processing in the Office.

Project details

The system has been designed to support the operations performed by the following departments: “Industrial design”, “Formal expertise”, “Information services”, “Information and publishing” and “Disputes”. The mere intent, scope and functions of the ASID have, to a considerable extent, been defined by the legislative norms, in force as of 1999 (The Law of Industrial design, regulations for the elaboration, depositing and expert investigations on applications for the registration of industrial design solutions). The system has adopted the functions of a transitional unit between the previously active system of industrial samples and the process of integrating the latest technologies, used for administering the activities, related to the information servicing of the other units (trade marks, new sorts and breeds, etc.), as well as the possibilities, granted by the WEB-based digital libraries for patents and trade marks.

In most general terms, the Automatic system for industrial design ensures information support for all activities, relating to industrial design/samples: administering deposited applications according to the national and internationally accepted order; support for the performance of investigations expertise; support for the various information research activities, statistics and information references; maintenance of a state electronic register; preparation of publications on paper and in electronic form; research in various bibliographic data and others, via combined criteria, including bibliographic data and classes of industrial design; the automatic search for similar design solutions, giving an opportunity for achieving considerable accuracy and observation of whole series of images of various designs simultaneously on the monitor; maintenance of an electronic archive of design solutions, which have a consumer classification for combined selection; processing taxes and direct connection with the financial and accounting system; Browsing in the Internet/Intranet for and in other digital libraries.
